I have to start by saying Thank you!!! for all the love and wonderful comments you left me on my defeat by triangles post a while back. Thanks to all your encouragement and helpful tips on how to piece triangles more precisely, I decided to give it another try a few days ago. And, this is what the quilt top looked like after all the triangles were pieced together. yay!!!
I kept thinking whether to add a scrappy border, but at the end I decided I liked it just the way it was. I used washi fabric by Rashida in coal for the backing (I so, so love that fabric).
I decided to use aqua thread to quilt diagonally along the triangles' sides. I really like the way it looks on charcoal backing. I think it adds another fun dimension to the whole quilt and plays really nicely with Kona aqua that I used to bind this colorful beauty.
I really, really love the way this quilt turned out. And, to give credit where credit is due, it was totally inspired by this poster I found on Pinterest.
Finished size is 39" x 47". I can't even tell you how happy I am that I was able to turn my triangle fiasco into a successful quilt. I'll be able to sleep better now, no more thinking about how to properly piece triangles so their points don't get cut off. That's not going to last that long, of course, because I have tons of projects running through my head right now and I'm sure some of them will keep me up at night, as usual.
Hope you all have a wonderful and creative weekend, Svetlana.
