My epp plus pillow is finally finished, yay!!!
I started working on these blocks ages ago (it's been more than a year since I first shared my progress, crazy!!!). You know how it is though, it takes a long time to finish a project you're not working on :). And this pillow top was set aside for months at one point. I even thought of getting rid of it so I wouldn't feel guilty every time I saw these half finished blocks.
I'm so glad I decided to tie this pillow top instead of quilting it. I think it adds just the right amount of whimsy and playfulness.
I added a hidden zipper closure to pillow backing (free tutorial here), and a striped binding, of course.

Great you finished it and it was worth it. Love your binding and the tiny knots in the middle of each plus. I need to do such binding in future, too. I have never ever done it before.

This looks super cute! Especially with the tying instead of quilting :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your work is always amazing!
ReplyDeleteit's adorable! I love those EPP plusses, might have to start another project using them
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work ! I love your fabric choice, binding and knots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful design! I really like the invisible zipper back - that makes it as nice on the back as the front.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you finished it too! I always admire the pieces in your blog header, now they are a cushion!
ReplyDeleteI remember you starting this - it turned out great! And yes - the knots are a perfect finish and give a hint of texture.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely on my project wish list.
Absolutely beautiful! Have you showed the instructions for the plus EPP's?
ReplyDeleteI love this! I haven't yet got a chance to try the plus sign epp. I also luv that you tied the knots instead of quilting. I've never thought about doing that on a pillow! Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing this project! I've started stitching a few of my own EPP pluses and was glad to see what you did with yours.
ReplyDeleteYour cushion cover looks great! The striped binding really adds to the design. I'm curious...did you just cut off the excess pieces when you squared up, or did you fill in all the outside squares?
ReplyDeleteThis turned out really lovely!
ReplyDeletewhere did you buy the plus sign template?
