After reading Jolene's post on fabric and seeing pictures of her beautiful basket quilt, I simply had to start one myself. (I'm following Gwen Marston's instructions in her Liberated Quiltmaking II book)
I'm so absolutely in love with all these colors - so springy and bright.
And, speaking of spring, she finally decided to show up so I'm off to enjoy this beautiful day (it will include some sewing, of course).
Wishing you all a wonderfully gorgeous spring Sunday too. Svetlana
Svetiana, love your basket quit. I agree the colors are so "spring like." I had the opportunity to take a workshop last year from Gwen Marston. Love her work and she is such a gracious lady. Happy Sunday to you!
ReplyDeleteAnother super fun, happy quilt Svetlana!! Wish I knew your secret to getting so much great work done! You are truly an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOh you beat me to this! I love it. I have wanted to make one forever. Did you hand appliqué or fuse? LOVELY
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. You sure work at the speed of lightening. Do you actually sleep. LOLL
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun, light hearted design! Love! And perfect timing with the spring weather -- it's finally shown up in my neck of the woods today, as well ;)
ReplyDeleteCute! We just spent the day at the seaside, got to love spring!

ReplyDeleteGreat fabric choices - especially for spring!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully spring-y, let's hope it encourages the weather along too!
ReplyDeleteJust my kind of quilt. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your baskets. I have the book and thought I would try a little basket wall hanging first.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work as usual Svetlana! Love your colorful baskets!
ReplyDeleteOh so sweet! Welcome Spring.
ReplyDeleteI love that these are random shapes and not all regular. Great.
ReplyDeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt! Love the palette.
ReplyDeletePerfect! I have this book and love it.....have made a small basket quilt a few years ago.....LOVE!
ReplyDeleteSweet! It finally turned warm here today too. Finally! I remember another basket quilt you made before. This one is going to be beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteThese baskets are perfect. I really like all the bright, happy colors
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that they are all just a tad wonky. That along with the fabric choices, make this an exciting masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteI forget...thanks for the hint about sewvacdirect.com. Got my new machine and love it!! Going to teaching my daughter how to quilt.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely too slow (I don't know who is responsable, me, the kids, the tiredness every evening, alltogether). You made a quilt top in no time. *sigh* Someday...
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, happy colors! They definitely look like Spring to me! :)
ReplyDeleteYour work is outstanding. I just started a blog last nite. I am learning as I go. I'd love for you to visit and give your comments. http://aquiltersmission.blogspot.com. I appreciate your time.
