This is going to be a pillow cover for my PTS8 partner. I'm so, so excited about the way it looks.
I also love looking at the wrong side, just look at all these many seams.
I have to say, I'm glad all the paper piecing is done. I made eight 5" courthouse steps blocks using this tutorial by Tamiko. I then made my own template for the block in the middle.
Now I just need to decide on what fabric to use for the border. I'm most leaning towards the black print in the lower left corner as that would tie really nicely with the black fabric framing the middle block. What do you think?
Hope you have a great rest of the weekend. Svetlana
How do you keep coming up with such gorgeous designs?! I love this pillow...the center is my favorite part. I agree, the black works best as a border...second place goes to the red print. Beautiful, beautiful work, Svetlana!
ReplyDeleteOooh, it looks fab, and I always love the back of a paper pieced block, it almost seems a shame to hide it! I'd lean to the black too :o)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and precise, I love the grey in the top right, it frames your work without dominating it.
ReplyDeleteI love this! I think you need to use all four for the border. I love the way it looks it your last picture.
ReplyDeleteI love how this is coming together! I like both the dark fabrics for the border.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so great! So you paper pieced those courthouse steps, hey? Impressive. That's a lot of work. As for your borders, I think either the lower left, or upper right would work best, in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, it's gorgeous. I really must try paper piecing someday. Your photos make a good case for it!
ReplyDeleteI like the grey in the upper right corner, the black seems so heavy. Your log cabins are breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I'd go with the fabric in the upper right.
ReplyDeleteoh my - you HAVE been busy! This is awesome. I like the black for the border. Either that or the red makes it to me...
ReplyDeleteThis.is.gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jovita. The grey fabric won't dominate the lovely pillow front, it will compliment it. Super work!
ReplyDeletewow! it is really beautiful! i love the washi but i agree with you on the black text. i think it will frame it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous... I agree with the black, but the grey would work, too.
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing! And I agree that the black is a great choice.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I would also go with the black, makes the rest really pop!
ReplyDeleteohmygoodness! that's breathtaking! as always, i'm in awe of your work. xo
ReplyDeletereally amazingly gorgeous!! I love the bottom left (dark grey or black?) for a background. Well done!
ReplyDeleteit's lovely, just as everything else is that you create. I would go with a poison green border! That would pop!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I like the black or the gray for the border. How long did it take you to pick out the paper? I love paper piecing except for that part! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the fabric in the upper right corner. A nice compliment to the center block.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!
The black looks marvelous! It makes the blocks jump out. Love your choices of fabrics!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat piece, my immediate reaction was to use all the fabrics you have there in the order and placement you have!
ReplyDeleteI have just finished a paper piece project myself and right now it is laying across a big ole chair with the back of the quilt upwards 'cause I too love looking at all the seams!!! I guess it is the best view of how much work you put into it.....right?
Great job! That looks awesome! I love the fabrics that you chose. Sometimes it can be really difficult doing justice to the fabrics when you are doing such tiny piecing don't you think?!
ReplyDeleteThat looks amazing! I think the back looks almost as good as the front! I'd go with the black :o)
