Last night I made fabric apples. Aren't they the cutest? I bought this pattern by Retro Mama a while back. After reading the directions and realizing that I had to first prep and hand stitch the stem and the leaf, the pattern was put aside. I just was not in the mood.
A few days ago I realized that these little cuties could make really
nice presents for my children's teachers. School is out in a week, so it
was time to dig in.
I hand stitched all the leaves and stems while waiting for my kids at their guitar lessons and last night I finally cut all the fabric out.
I made all 8 apples last night while watching TV. I think they look really adorable but I'm so glad I don't have to make any more of them. 8 at one time is all I can possibly handle.
How about you, what have you been up to lately?
Those apples are adorable! I'm completely impressed that you made eight in one batch! I'm not sure I would have had the patience, though the results definitely seem worth it!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Hand quilting my granny squares is enough hand sewing for me these days! The pool opened today. We went when it opened and will be heading back tonight after the sun goes down. It was almost 90 here today and sunny as heck, so we could only stay about an hour and a half so that no one would get fried.
ReplyDeleteThese turned out so pretty! I'd love to have a bowl full sitting on my table!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! They would be cute gifts.... I have been working in a Vintage Nine Patch quilt for our bed. It has 80ish 5 inch 9 patch sqaures, no hand sewing....... cant wait to have it finished!
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty darn cute! Lovely work.
ReplyDeleteThose are absolutely gorgeous! As a teacher that would definitely make my day :)
ReplyDeleteThey are completely adorable! I could see how 8 would be enough though. I am not a fan of the process of making anything that needs to be stuffed, but the outcome is great!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute idea, and love the scrappiness :o)
ReplyDeleteThese are so darling! I'm trying to finish my project and tutorial for the Let's Get Acquainted Blog Hop since my day is this Tuesday. It's hard to fit everything in sometimes! :)
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute!
ReplyDeleteSoo adorable! I love them, my kids would totally maul them too. I'd love to line them up along a bookshelf or mantle. So cute!
ReplyDeleteCute cute cute!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the best apples I have seen! x Teje
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this pattern, and your apples are just perfect!!! I only used my pattern once, but need to make some more. You are inspiring me, but maybe I'll try 3 or 4 at a time.
ReplyDeleteThese are darling! Perfect teacher gifts :)
ReplyDeleteThese apples are yummy!!I might need to learn how to make them for next year... We are moving away.. Maybe I can make each teacher one apple. xox
