HOW TO SHORTEN A NYLON ZIPPER (a video tutorial)
Hello lovely makers,
today I'd like to talk about zippers. Specifically nylon zippers.
You might have noticed that I really like using metal zippers in my projects but recently I started to appreciate the ease of working with nylon zippers and the incredible array of colors they come in.
I usually buy standard #3 craft nylon zippers (the ones available at pretty much any craft store). I went back and forth on what length of zippers I wanted to get but once I realized how easy it is to cut these zippers down to the exact size that's needed for the projects I decided to purchase 12'' long zippers to be used in pouches and 20'' long zippers for bags and pillows.
These are my Norfolk Pouches (the pattern comes with metal zipper instructions but I adjusted them to use these lovely nylon zippers instead) . I love the pop of color these zippers add to the finished pouches and I also love how easy these zippers are to open and close which makes them a great choice for when making pouches for children, I think.
Happy sewing, friends!

CUMBRIA TOTE BAG (new pdf sewing pattern)
Hello lovely makers,
how are you all doing? Has fall arrived to where you live? We've had some cool, quite autumn-y weather last few days and it felt absolutely amazing. I'm definitely ready for some sweater weather 😀.
And today I'm happy to share my brand new bag pattern, Cumbria Tote Bag!
I love the two print exterior of these totes but I especially love the inner zipper pocket divider.
The large bag finishes at 13'' wide on bottom x 12'' tall x 5'' deep and it can fit a ton.
The small bag is 10'' wide on bottom x 9'' tall x 4'' deep and it makes a lovely everyday tote or it would also work well as a project bag.

AURORA CLUTCH (new pdf pattern)
Hello friends, I'm excited to introduce my newest pdf pattern to you today!
Small size: approx. 4'' tall x 7 1/4'' wide when closed
Large size: approx. 4 1/2'' tall x 8 1/2'' wide when closed
My most favorite thing about this clutch are the card slots on the inside. I love having a special place for my bank cards and an ID. The small size features three card slots, and the large one four.
I also like the wonderfully roomy front slip pocket which is great for receipts but can also keep one's glasses or even some phones safely inside.
The clutch also features a super handy zipper pocket on the back, a perfect place for cash, keys, or some other smaller items we need to carry with us.

As usual, I had some super talented makers test the pattern for me and I'm excited to show off their beautiful clutches. Enjoy!
My wonderful friend and a super talented sewist / knitter Ingrid @inghelhoe sewed up this beautiful set of clutches.
These beauties in gorgeous Rifle & Co print and Essex linen were sewn by the amazing Priscilla @cottonstitchca who also sells lots of her stunning makes.
Alexis @hughesam416 sewed up this sweet clutch, and check out that lining! So, so fun!

Tiny Foldover Pouch (free YouTube video)
Hello friends,
today I'd like to share a super adorable little pouch I designed for my YouTube channel.
I think these Tiny Foldover Pouches are absolutely precious. They finish at approx. 3'' wide x 3 1/4'' tall x 1'' deep and are just the right size to keep one's earbuds or small sewing notions and tools. Or, it could be used as a nice little coin pouch.
To make one of these cuties you will need two panels of quilting cotton for the *exterior, two panels for the lining, and two panels of interfacing (I used Pellon SF101). Each panel is 5'' wide and 6'' tall (13cm wide x 15cm tall). Oh, and the 3 1/2'' long ribbon or leather lace and a button.
*use non-directional print for the exterior
You can find instructions and a full video on how to make these pouches on my YouTube channel, just click here.
I hope you'll enjoy making (and using) these sweet little cuties.
Wishing you all a happy and creative day. Svetlana
