scrap busting

It seems my quilting mojo is coming back and I once again find myself drawn to my overflowing scrap bin :). Yay!!!

I should really be working on my newest bag pattern, but I'm learning to just go with the flow and allow myself some fun, no deadline sewing. I'm sure once I get this quilt out of my system I'll be ready to get back to what needs to be done. Fingers crossed.

These are just simple 2.5" squares pieced together in a 4 x 5 grid. I think I'll add a low volume border all around to make this quilt top a bit larger. And then I'm looking forward to spending many cool evenings slowly hand quilting this guy. I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Wishing you a creative day. Svetlana

  2. It may sound crazy, but I really like the 4 x 5 grid vs the usual square grid. Hand quilting will surely add an element of coziness to this quilt.

  3. So lovely Svetlana! I also have to go with the flow as my interest in a project waxes and wanes. Enjoy handquilting!

  7. I love this! I have the right low volume scraps but I also have some of your own fabrics which really makes this pattern sparkle. And the 4x5 grid is perfect. Thanks for sharing.

  8. Rectangle patch blocks. See, why don't we do that? It looks great! Glad to see you getting some quilt mojo back. I've missed it =) But I'm also excited to see where your other paths are taking you.

  10. Scrappy sewing can be such fun! And I'm slowly hand quilting a quilt as well. It's nice and warm, so I don't mind the slow stitching as the nights are getting colder. :)
