I started a new quilt last night. I decided not to go my "usual" route and traded colorful scraps for mostly solids (plus gingham, I really love gingham these days).
I'm quite loving it so far, but I do question this bright saturated green I chose. I'm starting to think it's my mind letting me know how much I really miss seeing green grass. This winter has truly been way too long and cold.
And, to make matters worse, this is what we woke up to this morning. Beautiful, that's for sure, but it's March and we're so ready for spring to come.
Hey, your link up is right next to mine on WIP Wednesday!!! Oh no, not snow again!!!!!! It's in our forecast too. This quilt is a great color combo--something very original and would be great for a manly quilt. Hope spring arrives really soon!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pops of green! I'm looking forward to seeing more of that color in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteI love gingham too! It looks great with the solids. We've been having sun here, which is most unusual!
ReplyDeleteoh I love this! I have a new stack of black and white fabrics that might be interesting in a pattern such as this. hmmm. Personally I love the dark green. oh - can I ask the size of your rectangles?
ReplyDeleteI love the green. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Not more snow! It does look beautiful though! Your quilt idea is bold and modern! Go for it! Jxo
ReplyDeleteSvetlanko, u vas doma bych chtela bydlet... tolik quiltu! :) A i ten vypada, ze bude krasny! Uz se tesim na vysledek :) A ta zima venku! No, ale u nas je sice jaro, jenze hlasi od vikendu velke ochlazeni a snezeni, tak uvidime, co nas ceka.

ReplyDeleteI love this! The green is perfect! Yes, we all need to do only spring inspired colors!
ReplyDeleteholy cow, that gingham is AWESOME! love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm also a wee bit obsessed with gingham lately. Can't get enough! Spring has sprung around Galway this week...hold out hope it's on the way to you too!
ReplyDeleteLoving the gingham! We finally got sun for the first time in months this week, in fact for the first time since last November, it's not raining and everything... but we do have frost every morning. Oh well, you win some, you lose some!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I love the gingham and the green. I'm in Iowa and right there with you being done with the snow.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this on Instagram, I thought you were using navy, which would also be kinda cool. I LOVE the pops of bright green. Keep going!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt, I hope it brings you some green grass soon!
ReplyDeleteHow clever and fun!
ReplyDeleteI love your colour scheme. We're lucky here as the last few days have felt like Spring ... although anything is still possible as it is only March :)
ReplyDeleteLove the green (and the solids in general!) Isn't it fun sometimes to break with the usual colours - especially when it's in anticipation of spring?!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Cannot wait to see the finished project!!

ReplyDeleteWe had a lovely spring day today, and up to ten inches of snow forecasted for the weekend. I'm beginning to think winter will never end in this country! LOL
ReplyDeleteI like the green, at least as it appears on my screen. Passes my squint test, also -- value blends nicely with your grays. I like what you are doing.
