Happy New Year's Day, everyone!!!
I started a new scrappy quilt a few weeks ago and since this will be the first quilt finished in 2013, I thought it was a great day to give a little peek. Want to see?
Isn't it fun? I'm following Katy's tutorial and using tons of my scraps. Aaaah, heaven! There's going to be more than 1000 2.5" squares in this quilt.
I'm happy to say that all my blocks are finished. They did get a little tedious at the end, but it was not as bad as I thought at first (thank goodness for PBS playing Emma at the right time).
I'm hoping to be able to piece the top and start quilting it in the next few days.
How about you? What's your first project for 2013?
I love what you've shown so far, Svetlana! It's so nice to use up scraps and get something so beautiful in return! Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteOh.. I love yours.. We are in the same boat!! I am working on my 1.5"x1.5" instead. Loving your solid fabric. I haven't decided on mine... Happy New Year! Wish another great productive year in quilting, sewing, and friendship~
ReplyDeleteLooking great, and wow, that's a lot of squares! First on my list is a new ironing board cover that I've been putting off for, oooh, 8 or 9 months...
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of little squares! Cutting them would have driven me nuts :) Great quilt, though. I'd really like to make the quilt with the white X shapes through it by Marla that Katy posted on Dec 17.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I have squares ready for this one too. Yours look great!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fab S! I'm carrying over some wips from '12 but am currently designing a new handbag which will be a new project for '13. Jxo
ReplyDeleteWow so many little squares! I just don't have that sort of patience, lol! My first project is a quilt I'm pattern testing for a friend :o)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I've got that one on my list too, if I ever finish the other quilts on the go. Can't wait to see it all together.
ReplyDeleteI've jumped on the scrappy trip around the world craze. It's fun ; )
ReplyDeleteNeed to finish up some wips, but DID do the first block of a scrappy trip-around-the world!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the info and the link. I'm dying to try this. I love using my scraps.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm....might have to try! Love your colors!
ReplyDelete1000 little squares, WOW!! It looks lovely already! Happy New Year, Svetlana!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! That's 1000 squares of beauty and makes my scrap loving heart beat faster in admiration of it.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Svetlana!
Great blocks. I have followed Katy's SV quilts and now the Scrappy Trip Along quilts that are all the rage. I want to make one of each but I HAVE to get all the other projects done first! I really can't leave those WIPs and quilts for babies due in the next couple of months any longer.
