saturday sewing

Hello, happy Sunday!

I had a great sewing day yesterday. On a whim, I decided to start a new project. Want to have a peek? Ta-da!

After seeing Mary's version of Sarah Fielke's Whirligig quilt I just had to give applique a try. I so LOVE working on this project. Hopefully I'll find some time to get more hand quilting done today.

What have you been up to lately? Any new projects?

  1. Great sneak peek, love all the colours. I've been tackling a mere 3 projects this weekend o.O 1 was forced upon me when the FMQ on another gave me horrible RSI and I had to stop that!

  4. Very sweet. I automatically gravitate towards solids for backgrounds, but I love the dot fabric you chose!

  5. This looks so sweet! It's been a crazy week, so I have a million things to finish today. Trying to wrap up a pattern testing project (should have it posted tomorrow) and finish my Vintage Holiday quilt top by tonight.

  7. Hi Svetlana, I've discovered your blog fairly recently and I must say, it is fast becoming one of my favorites. I am constantly amazed at your productivity. You always have something new to share; it is very motivating. You recently posted that you free motion quilted for the first time. Wow - that was encouraging. Right now I have a stack of quilt tops completed, (I'm ashamed to admit there are 7 or 8 of them) but I'm so scared to quilt them and I refuse to send them out. Sometimes when I sit here at home and read everyones blogs I imagine that everyone is such an expert, so advanced in all their skills. It can be a bit intimidating but it's all just in my head. So... when you mentioned that you free motion quilted for the first time, a lightbulb went off in my head. What a tremendous encouragement that was! Just that one little comment has given me the courage to try. So thank you. :)
