needle books

Lately, things like work, laundry, cooking, cleaning, helping with homework, and tons of other  everyday tasks seem to really cut into my sewing time. So, when I found a little stretch of free time the other day I decided to whip up these little needle books. I knew they were pretty fast to make and I really needed to see something finished.

Out came some of my most precious fabrics - Daiwabo elephants have been my favorites for such a long time, and the mustache fabric I got from Spoonflower is so wonderfully funky and geeky.

I used colorful wool felt for the "pages". I love the feel of this felt. I originally bought it to make some more stuffed animals, but I gave up on that a while back so I was glad to find some use for it.

Then I just added colorful loops and some simple buttons, and ta-da!!! I had three very fun needle books all finished. Oh, it felt good!

In case you're interested, these needle books are listed for sale in my Etsy shop.

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday.  Svetlana

  1. I love the two elephant ones. The orange fastener makes the pink one my favorite! Did you follow a tutorial for making these?
