One of my resolutions for this year was not to take part in too many swaps. I tend to overthink what I'm working on and spend way too much time "stalking" my partner and questioning myself. The one I could not resist, however, was The Pillow Talk Swap. Its 7th round started a few weeks ago, it filled so fast, I was really glad I got in.
And, while I'm still working on the pillow for my partner, questioning myself every single step of the way, I already received my pillow from Brooke (Pitter Patter Stitch).
Doesn't it look gorgeous? I really like everything about it. I love the fabric Brooke chose, the pattern, quilting, and how unique it is. It was such a fantastic idea to use just one row of drunkard's path and frame it.
The back of the pillow looks wonderful, too. Print fabric and Rashida's washi tape strip go together so well. Oh, and the quilting is fantastic.
This pillow goes so well with my other pillows in our family room. Lola checked it out and approved. So, thank you, Brooke, again, I really, really LoVe it!!!
Here's a sneak peak of the pillow I'm working on. I hope to have it finished this week.
How about you? Do you swap? What's your opinion on swapping? I'd like to know.
Enjoy your Sunday, Svetlana.
Such beautiful pillows! I can't wait to see yours too. I've done one fabric swap and would really love to try a project swap, but I haven't yet figured out how to join one. They're always full, exclusive, or in progress when I spot them!
ReplyDeletewhat a gorgeous pillows!
ReplyDeleteI love the pillow you received--the fabrics are so pretty and bright! Perfect for spring! Your stars and hand stitching look so pretty too.
ReplyDeleteI have done a few swaps, and they have been okay, but I really like doing the bee blocks. I got some really amazing blocks I never would have been able to make either stylistically or skill-wise. And I have had a lot of fun making blocks for the other bee members.
Ooh, what a gorgeous cushion! Sure yours will be fab too :o) I've done a few swaps, I do stress a bit at times, but it's fun to see all the things that get created :o)

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the pillow made it there safely and that you like it. I really was fun to try to figure out your style and what you might like. I had a bugger of a time with the binding though, so if you want to redo it, I won't be offended. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great pillow you received and the one you are making looks wonderful too. I love swaps because they challenge and encourage me. However, I am thinking that I have to start doing less at a time as they take up a fair bit of my quilting time.
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a swap at the moment (only the second one I have done) Very time consuming but it is so lovely to get a wee parcel that someone else has put lots of their time to make you that it is all worth it in the end. These swaps do fill up quite quickly too. I'd like to try a different swap next time. I like the idea of a pillow swap.
ReplyDeleteI've done block swaps and a bag swap, but that's it. I also tend to worry way too much about whether my partner will like it, and that takes some of the fun out of it for me. But, wow! That pillow is awesome!
ReplyDeleteYour pillow received is awesome!! Love it. It looks just like your style.
ReplyDeleteI don't swap right now, but I mostly enjoyed the ones I did. I think taking a break might be a nice way to go.
