Gray and purple

I love the combination of gray and some other color, really any other color red, orange, green, blue, you name it, but until now I have not really made anything using that combo. That is, until this weekend. I pulled out some gray, white, and purple from my stash and this was the result.

At the end of the evening I had 4 pouches. I had no specific design or plan in mind, I was just making them up as I went. Love how they all turned out. I think they'll make great Christmas presents for my oldest daughters' teachers.

I loved this color combination so much that I decided to make a notebook and cell phone cover, too. I used this tutorial.

The tutorial is so wonderfully well written and easy to follow that I ended up making one more notebook cover, this time using Aneela Hoey's Little Apples fabric which I absolutely adore.

Do you have a favorite color combo or a project you can't seem to stop making?

Svetlana

  1. These are simply wonderful! The architectural fabric is also really great. What collection is it from?

  2. I've been eyeing that tutorial for the wallet/organizer and should really make one. Yours turned out great, the other projects as well. I too love gray with pretty much any other colour. Lately I've been doing quite a bit with red/aqua which I also love!

  5. Purple is my favorite color! But I tend to stick within a certain fabric line and don't pull together my own fabrics by myself. I have in the past and am usually disappointed with the outcome. You must have a knack for it though because those little wallets are perfect! The houndstooth check is really nice.

So, I am mostly constrained by what is popular (or what WAS popular since I probably bought on sale and is not current anymore) therefore aqua and gray is my most used color combo.

  6. Ooooh, I adore that houndstooth fabric!! I think the fabric pairing I keep coming back to is anything with blue - I think there's blue in every single quilt I make, most of the time! But, now I'm feeling the urge to tackle something gray and purple :)
