My Christmas sewing list is quite short this year since I finally realized that I am not required to give handmade gifts to everyone all the time simply because I can sew. Now, I did not discover anything new here but it
felt good to let myself off the hook :)
I did, however, make these drawstring bags for my nieces and nephews.
I so enjoyed choosing fun novelty prints and pairing them up with colored hemp string (bought here). Now just to stuff them with fun little goodies and they'll be making their way across the ocean :)
I followed my own tutorial, which you can find here, in case you'd like to make a bag (or twenty) for yourself. They are super simple and easy to make, I promise :)

ReplyDeleteDarling bag! I realized the same thing ~ I don't need to make all my gifts, just because I can sew. Really l takes the pressure off!
ReplyDeleteGood thinking! I bought my dad's present this year, it felt quite strange, but liberating at the same time!
ReplyDeleteGreat way to use up some of those extra bits of fabric you love. Super cute;)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! My daughter is having a birthday party in January and I'll make 3 of these as goodie bags!

ReplyDeleteYou are going to put some merry in their day when they receive them! My inner self always want to sew for Christmas.... my outer self says sew every day but not for Christmas! If I sew for others... When ever it gets done, you will receive it. (I have seen the light) This year when I was suppose to be sewing on a once upon a time, started 3 years ago, Christmas sewing project I saw this tutorial.

I loved the fact that she used her iron as the pattern. I did not follow her way exactly but I did make some Christmas towels and they have added a lot of Merry to our days. I have already gifted them to my daughters because I couldn't wait to put them under the tree. You are blessing your little world :) Merry Christmas! Janita
