Back in April, when Chase first talked about starting a pack patch mini quilt along, I knew I had to take part. Because I seriously love scrappy projects, and 1" finished tiny squares, and pretty much everything Chase makes.
Chase thought up a fun concept of different themes for each block (you can check them out here) which made making this mini extra fun and special. I must say though, as excited as I was about the quilt along, after just one week I fell off the wagon and could not catch up. I had two blocks finished when all twenty were supposed to be done :( That's as behind as one can get, right?
And then Chase posted pictures of her adorable mini. In that moment I dropped everything I was planning to do and spent my afternoon making all 18 blocks I still needed.
I used Kona Shadow for sashing and border and did some pretty dense straight line quilting. I'm still not sure if this was the best way to quilt it as the mini got extremely crinkly after washing. I do love it, though. Crinkles and all :) So, I'm definitely going to call it a success.
Thank you Chase, for coming up with such a fun quilt along.

ReplyDeleteIt is lovely. I need to finish the last four blocks, and then joining them. I hope finish it off this year ;)
ReplyDeleteAdorable. I always love your colors.
ReplyDeleteThis turned out really pretty, Svetlana. I read through the flickr discussions about the different themes. This was a very thoughtful and relaxing sounding quilt along. Wish I had done it! I wonder what yours with the different color squares (not just 2 colors) is for? I also like the one with the background color as one of the colors. Both of those blocks give it even more of a modern feel, besides the fact that the blocks aren't true 9-patches. It's interesting to say the least!!! Nice finish:)
ReplyDeletelove it Svetlana!!! This looked like such a fun quilt along!!!
ReplyDeletejust too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteLove how this turned out!
