triangles {a finished baby quilt}

Hello friends, how are you all? I've been so very busy lately with work, kids, and all the regular mundane everyday stuff that I barely had any time for sewing.

But once I read Mary's post showing her gorgeous triangle baby quilt  I simply had to stop what I was doing and make a similar quilt right away.

I started off with this bundle of mostly low volume fabrics from my stash. Once I started cutting and piecing my triangles I decided to substitute some of the prints with Kona Snow. Yes, that's how I always, always work. I cut my fabric as I go. It's not the quickest way to piece a quilt top, but it gives me a lot more control over which fabrics I use (or don't) in my quilts.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love all these sweet prints and soft colors together. I'm very seriously considering making a similar quilt for myself, or at least a pillow :) I used the same technique to piece the top as Mary did. I found it a little tricky at first and questioned the method, but look at all those points. Perfection!!! I'm sure I will use this technique again.

I did straight line quilting along both sides of each seam and finished this sweet little quilt off using orangey-red sketch fabric.

The quilt finished at 30" x 42" and is already washed, dried, wonderfully softened and crinkled, and ready to be gifted in a few days.

Thanks for stopping by. Svetlana
