small projects quilt along {patchwork pillow}

Hello, happy Saturday, friends!

Lately, I've been spending most of my sewing time working on my string quilt. I'm happy to say that I did make a huge progress in the last couple of days, I have all the blocks finished, Phew!!! Now I'm just slowly piecing the top together and trying to figure out how to quilt that stringy burst of color.

In the meantime, I managed to finish this patchwork pillow.

I forgot how fun some simple, scrappy patchwork can be. I had all my  2.5" squares cut out, most of them were leftovers from previous projects, and I just laid them out without much planning. I needed 64 squares to make a 16" x 16" pillow cover.

I used this adorable Meet the Gang fabric for the back, did a zipper enclosure, bound it with green striped fabric and the pillow cover was done.

I used an 18" x 18" pillow form which makes for a wonderfully plump and soft pillow, aaaaah!

So, now I'm ready to check one more project off my small projects sew along list. 2 projects down, 8 more to go.

Wishing you all a fun, relaxing weekend. Svetlana
